In a wooden case, 21" x 12" x 15" with brass corners and brass plate on the lid with the inscription
PRESENTED
TO ST PAUL'S CHURCH FOR
SEAMEN WHITECHAPEL
BY HIS ROYAL HIGNESS THE PRINCE CONSORT 1858
The
case divided internally to
provide compartments for the Communion silver, each compartment having
a printed paper label.
(The compartment labelled 'Flagon' is empty, as the flagon was stolen
in the 1920s-30s.)
The case contains two chalices, of a fluted, tulip shape, 9" high; two standing pattens, 8.5" diameter, 3.5" high; two plates, 9.25" diameter.
These pieces are all made of white metal (? silver plate) and bear the marks
