The 150th Anniversary of the Ritualism Riots

Here are some links, pictures, and  press coverage, from the visit of the Archbishop of Canterbury on 20 January 2010 for a service to mark the point at which the riots reached their peak.

See HERE for the texts of short papers given by three church historians at a seminar on 18 March 2010 at the church to explore what happened, and why!

The East London Advertiser included reports on  21 January (go to page 20) and 28 January (go to page 10).

Ruth Gledhill, the religious affairs correspondent of The Timesincluded this on her blog [she did not, in fact, manage to get to the service as she had hoped].

THE DUNEDIN CONNECTION
Bryan King's son, grandson and great-grandson were priests in New Zealand, and his chalice and vestments were presented to St Paul's Cathedral, Dunedin on Easter Day some years ago. We marked this link with special prayers at the Festal Eucharist on Easter Day 2010. See HERE for more details.
